Description
Description of the instrument
These membranophones are made with old wind instruments (sax, trumpet, trombone, euphonium...) or with fake instruments (for example, made of cardboard) similar to these. Mouthpieces with a turuta (kazoo-mirliton) are placed on them.
Way of playing
The performer places his mouth on the membrane mouthpiece and hums. The sung melody makes the membrane vibrate, which by reproducing it, modifies and increases the sound.
History
These instruments are used in the "fanfares". These large groups are still seen at some feasts as "bands". Formerly, it was customary to hire the music group for walks and parades that were made with friend groups. The bigger the band, the better, but it was also more expensive. For this reason, to reduce costs, they hired a few musicians and with them the "fake" ones came out, mixed with the others, providing sound and appearance.
